Outside of the general nonresident school system fee, there is no additional tuition cost associated with the dual enrollment program in partnership with Coastal Alabama Community College.

Students must meet placement requirements to enroll in Dual Enrollment courses in partnership with Coastal Alabama Community College. Important Deadline: All placement requirements must be completed and submitted to Satsuma City Schools by July 24, 2026, for Fall 2026 enrollment. 

• Option 1 - Accuplacer Placement Test 
  • Testing offered at Satsuma High School during the spring at no cost
  • Testing outside of the school year must be completed at Coastal Alabama at no cost.
  • If a student must retake the Accuplacer, there is a $25 retest fee.
  • Summer 2026 testing dates are available between May 26 and July 24 at Coastal Alabama Community College in Bay Minette. Please contact Lee Jay at ljay@satsumaschools.com or Giselle Mansi at giselle.mansi@coastalalabama.edu for information about scheduling a test.
     
• Option 2 - ACT Scores (Benchmark)
  • Must meet the required benchmarks set by Coastal Alabama
    • Minimum required scores:
      • Math: 22+
      • English/ELA: 18+
  • Submit official scores to Satsuma High School through the ACT portal

Dual Enrollment courses serve as advanced/honors-level coursework in some subject areas. These courses may be used toward the Honors Diploma, but students do not need to be on the Honors track to participate.

Academic Standing Policy:

• Students earning below a “C” will be placed on academic probation
• Probation may require moving from:
  • Honors Diploma → College Preparatory Diploma track

• All students must complete a Dual Enrollment orientation before enrolling
• Satsuma High School will host two on-campus sessions in late July
• Students unable to attend must complete orientation at a Coastal Alabama campus

• All Dual Enrollment courses generate an official college transcript
• Credits are:
  • Guaranteed to transfer within Alabama
  • Often accepted by out-of-state colleges (not guaranteed)
